Shorter Initial Knowledge Check
Reduce test fatigue with a shorter Initial Knowledge Check in select elementary and middle school courses. Thanks to enhanced AI, it has fewer questions while maintaining the resultsʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™ accuracy. Elementary courses (LV3-5) have a maximum of 15 questions; middle school courses (Middle School Math Course 1-3, Focus on Middle School Foundations 1-2, Essentials for Algebra, and Algebra Readiness) have a maximum of 20 questions. Students can start learning new content sooner, and you can more quickly identify their areas of need and plan instruction.
Organize Assignment List with Folders
Stay organized and quickly locate assignments by creating folders in the class Assignment List and ordering assignments or folders by dragging and dropping them in place. Your customized list applies to ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ, ensuring both your view and ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ' view of the Assignment List reflects class routines and priorities.

Confidently enroll ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ in the course where they can be successful with updated recommendations that clearly suggest the best ALEKS course for ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ working at grade-level and ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ who are approaching grade-level.
Please use these as guidelines. Schools, classes, and ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ with unique needs may fall outside these recommendations.
Assign Master Templates in Access Manager
Master Templates allow administrators to customize and control the content, settings, and assignments in an ALEKS class for use across their district. Organization administrators can assign district-level ALEKS Master Templates directly in Access Manager, so teachers and ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ get the customized, Master Template-based version of the class as soon as it's provisioned. Teachers can spend less time setting up linked classes and more time focusing on ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ' needs.

Updated topic areas include proportions and percents, real numbers, graphing and equations of lines, and quadratic functions. New interactive tools include a double number line, tape diagram, integer chips, and adding/subtracting on a number line.Ìý
AI Update Reduces Time in Knowledge Checks
Using deep learning neural networks, a form of machine learning that resembles the human brain, ALEKSʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™ AI has reduced ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™ time spent in Knowledge Checks by more than 20%, allowing ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ more time to learn and master new topics. Research comparing student learning before and after the neural network AI update shows that ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ now master 9% more course material in the same amount of time.Ìý
Activity Time Breakdown for Class/Students
The Activity Time Breakdown report shows class and ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™ overall student time spent in Learning Mode, Knowledge Checks, Assignments, and QuickTables, so you can determine if ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™ time in ALEKS aligns to your expectations and supports learning goals. Check the dashboard tile on the home page for a quick look or view the full report for details on each class and student.
Individualized Pacing Goals
To support ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™ unique learning needs and IEPs, set pacing goal assignments for an individual student or group of ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ. Goals can be assigned for time in ALEKS, topics learned, or Pie Progress achieved. With individualized goals you can set appropriate, attainable targets that ensure each student is motivated to learn and make progress in ALEKS.
Create your Own Questions
Create your own questions to include in ALEKS assignments to address precise skills, extend standards, assign higher DoK or thought questions, or deliver common exams. Questions can be multiple choice, matching, numeric entry, or free response format and are auto-graded and included in the Assignment Report item analysis for at-a-glance performance monitoring.Ìý
Course Placement Check
Available for middle school and high school courses, the Course Placement Check reduces guess-work by recommending which ALEKS course ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ should start in for the best learning experience.Ìý

Expanded Reports for Administrators
Administrators can more easily track usage and progress across their district or school with four new dashboard tiles: Pie Progress, Learning Rate, Activity Time, and Activity Time Breakdown. From the tileʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™s corresponding reports, easily zoom in on a specific school, course, master template, teacher or class. At-a-glance access to this data helps administrators determine if ALEKS is being used with fidelity and supporting learning goals.Ìý
ALEKS AdventureÌýUpdates
Review Mode at End of Grade Level
When ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ reach the end of their grade level, they are guided to play or re-play topics for further practice and reinforcement. Early finishers can continue working productively in their current class with no action needed from the teacher. When balloons display on a studentʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™s homepage, it means theyʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™ve reached the end of the grade level and are now in review mode. As they review topics, theyʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™ll earn rewards and take Progress Knowledge Checks and can increase their mastery percent by answering Progress Knowledge Check questions correctly.Ìý
More focus on ready-to-learn topics
To focus ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ' attention on topics they are ready to learn and should work on next, already-completed topics are now collapsed on the map and labeled with a check mark. Clicking a check mark expands all the completed topics on the map until the page is re-loaded. Students may still review completed topics by clicking and re-playing them.Ìý
Hints include visual scaffolds
When ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ click the Hint button, they now see a visual scaffold in addition to the written and spoken hint from Digit, helping them make connections and comprehend new or complex concepts.
Re-play read-aloud
All topic pages now have a re-speak button so ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ can re-play the text-to-speech on demand. Clicking the re-speak button also re-plays any animations on the page.
More practice problems
Additional variations of independent practice problems have been added to all topics so ʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ are less likely to encounter the same problem if they re-visit a topic or are working on the same one as a classmate.
AI Update improves accuracy and choice
Enhancements to ALEKS AdventureʯÁñÊÓƵ»ÆÉ«°æ™'ÌýAI have increased the precision of the Initial Knowledge Check without adding more questions. Students will be more accurately placed in the course material and may have more ready-to-learn topics available on their maps, giving them more choices of what to learn.Ìý
